Dover Choral Society
Stephen's association with Dover Choral Society began at the age of 17, when his father brought him along to rehearsals.

Since then he has performed in the chorus on innumerable occasions, as baritone soloist a dozen times or so, as continuo player and even as timpanist.

Founded in 1892, Dover Choral Society has a membership of over 100 voices, and presents two major concerts every year.

Programmes contain a wide variety of choral works, both sacred and secular, using professional instrumentalists and soloists. Both major performances are held at Dover Town Hall, typically on the penultimate Saturday of November, and one week before Easter.

At Christmas-time, we also lead the singing for Christians Together in Dover's "Come Christmas Carolling", again at the Town Hall. Each summer we join with other local musicians to present the Dover Festival Proms Concert in support of local charities. Other musical and social events also take place throughout the year.

New members are always welcome - rehearsals are intensive, but friendly!

Friends of Dover Choral Society include both singing and non-singing members. Friends receive tockets for both of our yearly concerts, as well as up-to-date news of additional concerts and other activities of the Society.
